I know it doesn’t sound too challenging but especially while on holiday I looooove to just scroll through Facebook, Instagram & Co.

Well, it was totally different in Santorini!

I am usually online 24/7 – that’s part of the deal. I start in the morning while still in bed scrolling through Instagram checking WhatsApp and a quick first update with Caro on our daily agenda. And this ‘procedure’ continues throughout the day. If I don’t have my phone close to me I do get nervous. I know this is sad but I m sure I m not alone.

When you intend to spend 10 minutes – just checking on some news at least half an hour is gone! That’s crazy!!!

Back to our little honeymoon getaway in Greece.

The deal was: 30 minutes in the morning and in the evening to check emails and obviously update you with some pictures. Especially at the beginning it did feel strange. The feeling that my phone is not like RIGHT next did make me nervous.

When returning to our room all the WhatsApp messages swamped me – and there it was – the pressure to reply to all of them right away. These days its understood that you have to reply immediately and there you go – you are back in the rat race.

I needed this timeout!

Don’t get me wrong I love sharing our days with you guys but sometimes you need a little social media detox or a time out. And I think you guys do agree with that as well.

The first time since years (!) I read 3 books in less than 2 days. I know this sounds pathetic but I m honest with you guys. If my phone is next to me I just cant focus. I do read but after 10 minutes I’m back online 🙁 .

The good thing was though, that after the wedding I was so exhausted that I slept for 2 days in a row. Therefore the detox wasn’t as bad as I expected it to be.

At dinner we both realized we were the only ones with no phones …. Instead of starring and scrolling through our iphones we decided to summarize on our wedding and just enjoy ourselves!!!!!!!!

The upcoming days I just enjoyed myself; I didn’t even miss my phone too much. First time in ages that I got to reflect on the past months. Our wedding, our lifes and constantlyk. I set up my yearly plan, my personal to dos. Something I can only recommend to do.

By the Way: Set goals no matter if they are private, job wise or in case you wana loos some weight. This helped and motivated me a lot along my journey – to be able to see my weekly progression!!!!!

Due to our checkout on day 5 I had my phone, laptop, camera next to me again and it made me nervous. I didn’t like the feeling and I did feel a bit irritated. Don’t get me wrong, I love to share our days with you guys via InstaStories or whatever but sometimes you just need this little time out in order or recharge your batteries.

I did realize that this is my personal way to go – at least every once in a while. Now while in Ibiza we are doing the same thing again – enjoying ourselfes with no phones – well at least without my phone :-).  I wanna suck every second in and enjoy every moment to the fullest!!!!

You might as well go for it – I promise it won’t hurt 🙂 .

    Liebe Karin,
Ich versteh genau was du meinst. Irgendwann 😉

    Liebste Grüße,
